MISSION / SUMMARY:

This developmental role will result in multiple assignments throughout the plant and will provide technical support within the assigned departments. This position will work closely with assigned mentors to develop and implement best practices to improve safety, quality, productivity and cost reduction.

 

The successful candidate will provide support for process improvement projects including, but not limited to, providing support for process improvements, and supporting the plant’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI) management system as required.

Drive best practices in safe operations and ensure the safety of all operations, maintenance and staff personnel.

 

Needs to be self-starter, be self-directed, take initiative to move forward with ideas, be committed and be able to work with and influence others. Must learn quickly and analyze the data.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

PROCESS ENGINEER INITIATIVES

Provide technical expertise and leadership in equipment improvement projects (Capital and Non-Capital). Assists in the conception, development, design, and performance of various operations and maintenance improvement projects. Initiates and supports continuous process improvement efforts for all departments. Compiles, analyzes, and interprets data related to process improvement projects. Develops cost estimates for maintenance improvement projects. Assists with the maintenance of all technical documentation including prints, manuals, and process software.

 

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES

Act as change agent to drive continuous improvement of production and service processes to improve quality and increase efficiency, which includes root cause analysis and problem solving. Drive cost savings initiatives and track progress towards plant goals. Shares an obligation to protect and strengthen Graphic Packaging International’s good reputation in our relationships with customers, employees, suppliers, competitors, investors, and governmental agencies, and to act consistently with our core values: Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork Review daily production and quality data, analyzes production and operation issues. Responsibilities include implementing manufacturing processes, troubleshooting process, equipment issues, data collection and analysis. Identify process improvements. Assist key personnel in operational scheduling. Analyze weekly and monthly trends.

 

LEAN INITIATIVES

Provide leadership to Continuous Improvement initiatives. Provides technical training and support to management and employees with regards to the plant’s Lean initiatives, including 5S and housekeeping standards. Schedules, develops, facilitates, implements, and tracks Lean events and activities. Includes the development of training materials Compiles, analyzes, and interprets data related to Lean projects. Executes Six-Sigma projects as assigned Contribute to Lean projects at the Divisional level.

 

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Quality, or related field preferred 1-3 years of experience preferred, including: Capital Improvement Projects Manufacturing  Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook , and internet research skills  Experience with SAP preferred AutoCad experience preferred Proven track record of identifying opportunities and the ability to recommend and implement improvements Project Management Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen type experience Leader with exceptional communication skills, good organization, and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization

 

Pay Range:   $71,250.00 - $95,000.00
