Job Description
The Process Engineer is responsible for line improvements, documentation such as PFMEA, control plans, and work instructions. This role involves communicating with production teams and maintenance to ensure lines are running efficiently. The Process Engineer will also train team members in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), problem solving, and Continuous Improvement (CI) techniques (e.g., 5S, TPM, SMED) and ensure regular audits for the maintenance of such procedures. Additionally, the role includes training supervisors and team members on equipment issues and processes. While the standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, the facility operates 24/7, which may require on-call availability to resolve issues, either over the phone or in-person.
ResponsibilitiesImplement line improvements and maintain documentation such as PFMEA, control plans, and work instructions.Ensure efficient operation of production lines by coordinating with production teams and maintenance.Train team members in SOPs, problem solving, and CI techniques, and conduct regular audits to maintain procedures.Train supervisors and team members on equipment issues and processes.Provide on-call support as needed to resolve issues during non-standard hours.Essential SkillsExperience in process improvement and process engineering.Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.Proficiency in PFMEA and control plan documentation.Strong problem-solving skills.Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Ceramics, Mechanical, Industrial, Material Science) preferred.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role.Experience in automotive manufacturing.Background in automation (ABB/Fanuc robots).Six Sigma certification.Glass manufacturing experience.High initiative with the ability to learn and address problems with minimal direction.Work Environment
This position operates Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, within a 24/7 facility. The environment is non-climate controlled, and long-sleeve protection and steel-toed shoes are required on the floor.
