Purpose of the Position:
As a process engineer in manufacturing, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining manufacturing processes to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement new technologies to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs. Key Responsibilities The engineer will contribute to line, department and plant performance. Process involvement will include production and development activities. The engineer will take the initiative to improve procedures and setups through documented change control. The engineer will proactively identify where gaps in work instructions and process setups exist and will work to close the gaps. Improvements will be implemented with the expectation that standard operating procedures and setups are created and followed. Problem solving will be routine and is expected to be performed methodically. Assistance to other engineers with problem solving is expected. The engineer will be expected to document process understanding. This will include daily process learning, development planning, and development reviews. Work will be assigned in terms of objectives and general guidelines. The engineer's work will be reviewed for soundness of technical judgment and for consistency with established procedures. Failure to achieve results or erroneous decisions may result in the reallocation of resources. The engineer is expected to perform daily engineering oversight and support of production. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in all manufacturing processes. Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards and risks.
Work Hours:
Standard Hours (Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm) Managing a 24/7 plant structure, so support when needed.
Education and Experience:
B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Material Science & Engineering Can take routine data retrieval and analysis and develop a standard methodology. Seeks process variability reduction and drives to root causes of special cause variation. Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to facilitate problem solving teams and delegate tasks to others in the pursuit of a solution. Results oriented and committed to deliver. Able to handle multiple complex tasks and set priorities with multiple internal customers. Has a thorough understanding of and can practice Process Control and Discipline. Can discern when to follow SOP, and when SOP no longer applies, and additional stakeholder input may be necessary.
Desired Skills:
Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, including formulas and graphing functions. Demonstrated leadership or strong teamwork in accomplishing common goals. Practical experience with basic statistics, a track record of identifying sources of variation. Production or technical supervisory experience. DMAIC (or Six Sigma) green belt certification.
Soft Skills:
Ability to work within a team environment (strong team player). Proven self-starter – able to effectively manage high levels of uncertainty and change.

The range for this position is $66,664.00 - $91,663.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
