For more information visit: www.vantagegrp.com or LinkedIn/vantage. **POSITION SUMMARY** The Process Engineer will be responsible for equipment evaluation and design in support of capital project and process optimization activities. This individual will be a plant process technology expert for critical unit operations at the site. In addition to helping with day-to-day support, this individual will propose projects to improve throughput, utility costs, and product quality completing preliminary designs and cost estimating to analyze return on capital investment. Work will include front-end process design and economic cost justification along with presentation to management. Perform process design calculations for new and existing processes. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: + Assist in commissioning of new or modified plant equipment, scale up new products per R&D’s transfer technology, troubleshoot existing processes. + Specify instrumentation & control systems for new and existing processes. + Provide guidance and expert advice to management or other groups on technical, systems- or process-related topics. + Use relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with regulatory requirements. + Troubleshoot and support upgrades to the DCS / PLC systems by making simple modifications and coordinating larger more complex changes with outside resources. + Establish manufacturing standards, monitoring actual plant performance, and make proposals for improvement. + Organize plant trials or laboratory experiments necessary to establish optimal process parameters in terms of safety, quality, operating, efficiency and capacity. + Identify and implement projects to support the site’s cost and productivity improvement initiatives. + Contribute to the training of operators, production supervisors, and others as required, particularly in new and modified processes. + Support production and process safety engineers. **THE IDEAL CANDIDATE** **Desired Background** + B.S. Chemical Engineering + A minimum of eight (3) years’ experience in a chemical manufacturing environment **Knowledge, Skills & Talents** + More specifically, we would seek the following attributes and competencies for the position: + Strong commitment to safety and environmental practices + Ability to collaborate and build strong cross functional relationships. + Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques aspects of chemical manufacturing. + Experience in process equipment design and distributed control systems a plus. + Experience working with in the OSHA PSM, PHAs and LOPA + Strong organic chemistry background as plus Vantage is a leading supplier of naturally derived specialty ingredients and formulations that cater to the evolving needs of industrial and consumer markets.
