Job Description

Roles and responsibilities:

Serve as a process expert and lead for the plant DCS systemDevelop and maintain data acquisition system standards and best practicesManage the Mill Hall controls assessment program to identify and close gaps on obsolete hardware and softwareLead the automation design and implementation of new equipment and technologiesLead training for operations, maintenance, and engineering on new automated processes and equipment.Serve as project manager or project consultant for major automation/controls upgradesProvide troubleshooting support to operations and maintenanceProvide cross-functional support to ensure the security of the control systemPromote safety as the most important value in the organization by contributing through training, process improvements and other EHS responsibilities and following all aspects of the site Process Safety Management (PSM) system.Assist in development of capital plans to support the site controls strategy

Qualifications

Required:

B.S. in engineering (BS ChE preferred, others considered with experience)DCS Controls experience in batch programming; Emerson DeltaV DCS programming preferred4+ years of experience in process controls or automation engineering function in a chemical plant environmentTeam player; able to coordinate efforts across functions, plants and divisionsAbility to be “on call” for process upset troubleshootingHigh-energy, self-directed, self-starter

Preferred:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Google suite, and AutoCAD
