Job Purpose
The Problem Resolution Management Engineer role coordinates engineering efforts to work on solving issues and processing changes to the product along its lifecycle in development of traction inverters for electric vehicles, while balancing the team’s efforts, to achieve the goal of zero defects at product launch. This role requires working together with Program Leads, Engineering, and interfaces frequently with the customer.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain communication and develop a good working relationship with the customer/supplier; establish and maintain the communication link in terms of Defects Status between the engineering department at the customer and the BorgWarner project teams
Implement internal and external change management activities according to BorgWarner process framework
Determine all the project's change management activities
Decide on change requests and track them towards resolution
Communicate change request status and close out the requests
Define strategy for project’s problem/defect management
Analyze the defects and plan their corrections
Track the defect resolution
Classify defects and assign priority and severity to them
Close out defect reports and analyze problem trends
Determine impact of the problem to the project
Support the project team in root cause analysis and lessons learned archive
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s in Electrical, Mechatronics or Software Engineering. Master’s degree in related technical field preferred.
Automotive industry experience with progressive increases in responsibility, experience in Systems engineering
Good working knowledge of software development lifecycle.
Knowledge of Polarion, JIRA or similar tools
Understanding of power electronics, electric motors and controls
Understanding of effort estimation and work tracking
Demonstrate experience of working in high pressure environments in previous roles.
Analytical, technical, and statistical skills for root cause analysis, methods and tools (DFMEA, FMEA, FMEDA, 8-D, and FTA analysis)
Experience in A-SPICE
Fluency in English is required. German and/or French would be an advantage
Global Experience working with multiple regions and multiple cultures
Experience in development of propulsion system, power electronics, motors or engines, hardware and controls development, system integration, and execution is an asset
Some travel (less than 10%) and a flexible work schedule on occasion
