Position Summary:

Provides quality therapy and care to patients suffering cardiopulmonary, neurological or other metabolic disturbances which require the administration of various treatments; communicates with physician concerning efficacy of therapy, instructs patients, takes phone orders and performs other cardiopulmonary care services functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to meet minimum hospital hiring standards.High School Graduate or Equivalent and completion of a respiratory care program approved by the American Medical Association.Certificate of Registration as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the state of Oregon.Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board for Respiratory Care.Experience preferred.Obtain BLS certification within three months of hire, and maintain as current.Obtain ACLS within six months of hire and maintain as current.Obtain PALS within six months of hire and maintain as current preferred.Obtain NRP within six months of hire and maintain as current preferred.

Essential Job Functions:

Conducts a program of treatment, management, diagnostic evaluation and care of patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system in a safe and therapeutically effective manner.Administers and documents medication in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.Correctly administers Cardiopulmonary Care Services in accordance with Policies and Procedures.Maintains awareness of environmental conditions and initiates corrective intervention as indicated.Maintain a professional relationship with the medical staff.
