Johnnie Walker Princes Street in Edinburgh and “4 Corners” distillery transformations are a global focal point as Diageo celebrates the 200th Anniversary of Johnnie Walker in 2020. This major high-street investment project - with its plan to build world-leading, authentic and cultural visitor experiences - attracts new audiences and helps diversify Edinburgh’s tourism landscape, bringing vibrant new activity and footfall to the west end of Princes Street.

About the Role

The Private Client Advocacy Lead is part of a team responsible for delivering personalised, high-end experiences to Private Clients across Scotland. This role focuses on four key areas of expertise:

Client Engagement—Work alongside the Private Client Experience Manager to build outstanding tailored experiences that strengthen client relationships and drive brand dedicationBusiness Development and Partnerships: Identifying opportunities for growth, helping with building strategic partnerships, and expanding the private client network.Sales: Drive the sales of private client bottlings by demonstrating client insights, personalised recommendations, and exclusive offerings to grow the business and improve brand loyalty.Operational Excellence – Ensuring the smooth delivery of experiences through meticulous attention to compliance, health and safety standards, and operational readiness.

Key responsibilities:Plan and execute visits for our private clients, their networks and corporate/internal VIPsContinuously support the creation and development of private client experiences in ScotlandResponsible for the VIP service from data capture to behind-the-scenes operations/systems, compliance and aftersales servicePlan and locally deliver product launches, events and scope marketing partnerships across various brand homes, collaborating with global Rare and brand teamsEngage with local VIP clients, capture and recruit visiting HNW potential clientsPartnering with 3rd party hospitality players in Scotland to deliver end-to-end Scotland experiences and recruitment opportunities via referralsReporting, analysis and feedback of performance, both quantitative and qualitativeWhisky knowledge or curiosity about learning about the categorySupport in training Brand Home teams on HNWI sales and hosting in order to elevate the standardBe a Brand Ambassador for the Diageo luxury portfolio either within the setting of private experiences or eventsDrive revenue growth through upselling opportunities by recommending tailored products, exclusive offerings, and customized experiences that align with client preferences and business objectives.Run and use the CRM Private Client system to supervise client interactions, analyze data, and find opportunities to enhance client engagement and drive sales growth. Ensure the system remains up-to-date and is used to its full potential for business development.

Proactively identify and act on client insights by demonstrating data and feedback to tailor offerings, anticipate client needs, and exceed their expectations, ensuring a personalised and high-value experienceUphold compliance, security policies and procedures for the private spaces, experiences, employees, clients and stockCollaborate closely with internal and external partners to align on strategies, share client insights, and contribute to a seamless delivery of premium services across the businessEnsure that the Brand home rules, safety standards, and sanitation requirements are followed at all timesParticipate in educational opportunities for personal growth and development, including cross-training opportunitiesPerform other duties as assigned

To be successful in this role you will need:proven experience in luxury hospitality, food & beverage, and spirits/wine industryStrong whisky and industry knowledge mandatoryPrevious VIP client experience is criticalBrand and category knowledge across Spirits and TBA (total beverage alcohol) with particular experience in process, ingredients, provenance, and trendsForeign language skills preferredExcellent communicator, both verbal and writtenAbility to work independently with minimal directionDesire to work in a fast-paced environmentBe guided by a customer-first attitudePossess a friendly, helpful, confident, and engaging personalityBe familiar with visitor experience standard processes and proceduresMust have the ability to prioritise and plan work activities in a timely and efficient mannerAbility to adapt to changes in the work environment, handle multiple work demands, and adjust to delays and unexpected eventsMust be flexible with work schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings
