Minimum Requirements:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
(A) Two (2) years of paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in the printing trade, which must have included all of the following, process photography, layout, platemaking and bindery operations, and routine maintenance and repair of related equipment; OR,
(B) Successful completion of sixty (60) college-level semester credit hours including eighteen (18) semester credit hours* in in graphic arts, printing, or a closely related field, plus one (1) year of experience as defined in (A); OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above. *applicants qualifying under option (B) must include a student or official transcript with their application.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: If you are appointed, you will be required to have a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise demonstrate your capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.
Desired Qualifications:
Proficient in the setup and operation of various high-volume digital printing equipment;
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously;
Customer service experience, with the ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person interactions;
Familiarity with coil and perfect binding processes;
Skilled in finishing tasks such as cutting, hole punching, grommeting, folding, packing, labeling, binding, and numbering;
Capable of lifting and moving paper and related materials in excess of 50 pounds;
Self-motivated with sound judgment and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
Collaborative team member who maintains positive working relationships and serves as a liaison with departments such as Central Stores, Communications, Instruction, and school-based staff;
Experience using Fiery Command WorkStation;
Familiar with software including Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Publisher, Photoshop, Canva, and PaperCut job ticketing;
Basic design experience, with the ability to assist in production and make necessary digital adjustments to files.
Position Summary/Responsibilities:
The Greece Central School District (GCSD) is seeking a dedicated and motivated Print Technician to join our three-person in-house Print Shop team, which provides essential printing services to all district schools and departments. Collectively, the team completes more than 1,500 print jobs and produces over 2.5 million impressions each month.
The ideal candidate will enjoy hands-on work and take pride in supporting high-quality print production. Most jobs are submitted electronically and processed through a Fiery Command WorkStation, requiring attention to detail and comfort working with digital workflows. Responsibilities include job setup, finishing, bindery, and lamination.
This role also requires the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, interact professionally with customers, and perform tasks that involve physical activity such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
