Principle Project Manager – Built Environment
Overview

Our client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the position of Project Manager (Principal). If you are a dynamic professional with a background in the built environment and extensive experience in managing complex projects, we invite you to consider this exciting opportunity. 

Responsibilities:

Lead and manage multiple complex projects and programs as the key client interface. Manage cost, commercial matters, quality, resourcing, scheduling, and technical matters during the project lifecycle to meet client’s requirements. Compile and review contracts and agreements (JBCC, GCC, NEC, FIDIC). Build and maintain external stakeholder relationships through networking, ongoing communication, and pitching ideas. Project and Programme Management, Contract Administration. Manage multi-disciplinary professional service providers. Co-ordinate and integrate activities internally and externally. Source new work and negotiate contracts with clients. Provide technical advice to clients, especially regarding infrastructure projects. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation for planning and implementing infrastructure and housing projects. Budgeting and maximizing sustainable revenue streams.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum BSc, Beng, or BTech qualification in the Built Environment degree. Project Management related qualification will be an added advantage. Postgrad in Project Management, Business, or Legal related studies will be advantageous. Minimum of 10 years relevant experience, with at least 5 years’ experience in complex building and/or infrastructure projects. Professional registration as a Construction Project Manager with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) required.

Requirements:

Good knowledge of and experience in the built environment, planning processes, statutory approval processes in obtaining development rights, and government policies. Experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary professional teams, including mentoring junior staff members. Experience in compiling and submitting tenders and proposals. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Salary negotiable based on the candidate’s qualifications and years of relevant experience.
