Job Description:
Our client is seeking an experienced Principal Tailings Engineer to oversee their team for various mining project sites across Africa, based out of Gauteng.
Responsibilities:
Conducting desk-based studies utilising data and information acquired from various sources.
Conduction due diligence reviews, scoping and pre-feasibility studies.
Design and supervision of waste facilities.
Project management and co-ordination.
Writing of reports and proposals.
Providing mentoring and training.
Travel to site as required.
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
Registered Professional Engineer.
15 years minimum experience in the design, construction and maintenance of Tailings Storage Facilities across all stages of large scale mining projects.
Experience serving as the Engineer of Record on large projects.
Well-versed in tailings management, geotechnics, heap leaching and water management.
Proven track record of bringing projects in on time, within budget and client approval.
Strong report and proposal writing skills.
Experience managing multiple projects and clients simultaneously, delivering design services on time and within budget.
Ability to review reports, carry out audits, manage people, technical teams and providing mentoring and training.
