Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

Responsible for management and support of the collection system and related integration components.

Takes part in customer hardships system architecture design.

Implements of hardships strategy in the collection system and / or applicable decisioning engine.

Tests customer hardships and recovery strategy implementation; oversees deployment of changes to production.

Creates, refines, and clarifies the detailed definition of the business need, designs the solution, and supports implementation thereof.

Oversees implementation and ensures compliance with system implementation standards.

Implements and monitors A/B testing.

Create, update and maintain data products for managerial, reporting and analytical use.

Drives defining, implementing and updating of the decision engine for collection purposes.

Mentors and guides senior and junior analysts.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Implementation of and changes to various aspects of the customer hardships systems, including:

user interface,integrations and interfaces (API),data flow, and related components.

Designs test implementation strategies with strategy analysts as per the obtained requirements

Implementation of hardships decisioning and a/b testing, including: Validation of test set upMonitoring of test performancePost-implementation reviews and data preparation

Development of decision engine and integration of related tools.

Maintenance of all rules built into the decisioning engine pertaining to:

Collection strategyPre-delinquency strategyLegal and recoveries strategyCustomer education strategy

Decisioning governance, including:

Ensure sign-offs are completed and processes are followedRequest and obtain any model validations from risk and compliance teams.

Creation and management of a high-performance team of collection system specialists.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

BSC. Computer Science or related qualification.

The following experience is a must : o C&R (FICO) Debt Manager or FICO Blaze Advisor / Decision Modeller or Fit Logic (C&R Software)

Minimum of 10 years experience with decisioning and / or collections systems in banking / financial services industries.

Collections experience is advantageous.

AWS Experience is required, including: S3, Redshift / RDS, API Gateway.

SQL at an advanced level is required.

Experience with XML data sets is required

The appointment will be made from the designated group in line with the Employment Equity Plan of Old Mutual South Africa and the specific business unit.

Oversees the initiatives that concern the overall business. Defines strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of the organisation's information. Liaises with business leaders to understand organisation's business requirements

ResponsibilitiesBusiness Requirements Identification

Elicit the most-complex business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and workflow analysis, to express the requirements in terms of target user roles and goals.

Analysis of "As Is" and "To Be"

Document the most complex "as is" and "to be" processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the "to be" capability to record accurately the change required.

Feasibility Studies

Lead the conducting of the most-complex feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective and document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure.

Information and Business Advice

Provide authoritative specialist advice to the leadership team of a small or nationally based organization or subsidiary to guide the implementation of policy and the design and implementation of projects and change initiatives.

Leadership and Direction

Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the business area or department; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these tenets and do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.

Organizational Capability Building

Evaluate the capabilities of staff within the department to identify gaps and prioritize development activities. Implement the organization's formal development frameworks within the area of responsibility. Coach and mentor others to support the development of the organization's talent pool.
