Northrop Grumman Classified Solution is seeking a Principal or Sr. Principal HPC Engineer to join our dynamic team of technical professionals in the Northridge, California. These will be an on-site positions.
Basic qualifications for a Principal HPC Engineer level (T03):
Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of engineering experience or 3 years with Masters, 9 years of relevant experience will be considered in-lieu of a degree.
Experience in HPC (High Performance Computing) technologies such as parallel/distributed files systems (e.g. Lustre, GPFS), high speed interconnect fabrics (e.g. Infiniband, Omni-Path), and HPC batch scheduling software suites (e.g. PBSPro, SLURM)
Understanding of basic networking, including subnets, routing, and VLANs; Cisco experience and/or certification
Experience with various implementations of MPI (e.g. openMPI, Intel MPI, MPICH, MPICH2)
Script writing ability (e.g. bash, Perl, Python)
The ability to code in C, C++, Fortran
Ability to modify Makefiles and build source code
Knowledge of containers, specifically Warewulf
Familiarity with kernel parameters to optimize various run jobs
**Current Secret clearance- adjudicated within the past 5 years.
Sr. Principal HPC Engineer level (T04):
Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university with 8 years of engineering experience or 6 years with Masters, 13 years of relevant experience will be considered in-lieu of a degree.
Experience in HPC (High Performance Computing) technologies such as parallel/distributed files systems (e.g. Lustre, GPFS), high speed interconnect fabrics (e.g. Infiniband, Omni-Path), and HPC batch scheduling software suites (e.g. PBSPro, SLURM)

Experience giving technical presentation to technical and non-technical attendees
Understand GPU’s
An understanding of CAD and meshing tools
Basic Understanding of RF
Understanding of Linux experience (e.g. RHEL, Centos, SUSE) and production infrastructure support (e.g. networking, storage, monitoring, compute, installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade, retirement)
Familiarity with configuration and workflow tools such as GitLab, Jira
Working knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools.
Security+ CE, CASP, CISSP, or similar DOD 8570 security certification. (Employment is contingent on the ability to obtained within 6 months).

Salary Range: $97,500.00 - $146,300.00Salary Range 2: $120,900.00 - $181,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
