Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced and motivated professional for the role of a Principal (A03)/Senior Principal Contract Administrator (A04) with experience in contract administration or related fields, including business management, supply chain management, business development, project management, or procurement. This position will be located in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and is expected to work a hybrid schedule.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Responsibilities:
Propose, negotiation, administer, extend, and close standard and non-standard contracts.
Provide advice to management of contractual rights and obligations, compile and analyze data, and maintain historical information.
Be self-motivated and have the ability to handle urgent situations from Northrop Grumman leadership and U.S. Government officials.
Participate in proposal preparation and negotiations (review, analysis, interpretation, and contractual advice on terms and conditions), review and approve contractual documentation to protect the company, and provide for proper contract administration and closeout in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract.
Provide contractual advice in accordance with company policies and procedures, and interface with both internal and external customers to ensure proper contract execution.
Ensure timely and compliant deliverables for all contracts supported.
The candidate hired will be based out of our office in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and will be required to work a hybrid work schedule—full time remote is not an option.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications for the Principal Contract Administrator position:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management-related function; or a Master's degree or J.D. with a minimum of 3 years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management-related function. We will consider 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Knowledge of the government contracting environment with some direct experience working with the FAR and DFARS.
Demonstrated experience with multiple contracting formats, including Fixed Price and/or Cost-Reimbursement contracts.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to multitask in a challenging environment.
Familiarity with terms and conditions and/or special contract clauses such as intellectual property/data rights and payment terms.
U.S. citizen.
Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.
Attention to detail and ability to handle complex contracts with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Advanced skills using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Basic Qualifications for the Senior Principal Contract Administrator position:
Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management-related function; or a Master's degree or J.D. with a minimum of 6 years previous experience in contracts, subcontracts, finance, or other business management-related function. We will consider 12 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Knowledge of the government contracting environment with direct experience working with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
Demonstrated experience with multiple contracting formats, including Fixed Price and/or Cost-Reimbursement contracts.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to multitask in a challenging environment.
Familiarity with terms and conditions and/or special contract clauses such as intellectual property/data rights and payment terms.
U.S. citizen.
Ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.
Attention to detail and ability to handle complex contracts with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Advanced skills using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
Recent experience as a Contract Administrator in the defense industry, particularly with the U.S. Navy negotiating and/or administering Production contracts.
Strong finance background.
Current/active security clearance.
Excellent working knowledge of FAR/DFARS.
Prior experience using SAP.
J.D. or MBA

Salary Range: $85,600.00 - $127,000.00Salary Range 2: $104,900.00 - $157,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
