Principal Specialist: Group Treasury

Role Purpose/Business Unit:

To secure optimal and timely financing of growth strategies for business development and strategic mergers and acquisition (M&A), particularly identifying, managing and securing the financial resources required to execute strategic growth initiatives, including business expansions, acquisitions and partnerships.

Your responsibilities will include: Develop a detailed funding plan based on the detailed business case in each marketDetailed analysis of all financial institutions, development finance institutions (FDIs) and other funding partners and assessment of strategic fit Conduct a detailed treasury analysis and market opportunity in each market and identify and evaluate funding optionsAssist and contribute to financial due diligence and risk assessments relating to fundingDeliver and own all treasury assumptions and inputs into the Business cases with detailed debt market sounding and BenchmarkingLead engagements with potential partners and funders on the proposed capital structure in each marketDevelop and maintain a comprehensive funding strategy aligned with the organisation growth’s roadmapCoordinate funding applications, proposals and negotiations with lenders and investorsMaintain relationships with financial institutions, DFIs and other funding bodiesServe as liaison between finance, executive leadership, legal and external fundersThe ideal candidate for this role will have: Completed University degree in Finance, Accounting, CFA or MBA preferredMinimum 5 years of corporate treasury/banking and/or finance experience in a large multi-national corporate, bank or financial institution Good knowledge of funding instruments Knowledge of financial regulatory environment and exchange controlDevelop a Group treasury and support structure - Central support to Group, MarketsStakeholder Engagements and Negotiations: Prepare Treasury plans and present to EXCOPrepare treasury presentation packs - External customer salesLead DFI and funder engagementsDevelop a detailed funding plan based on the detailed business case in each marketCore competencies, knowledge and experience : Strong financial modelling and analytical skillsExperience in capital rising and funding coordination, preferably M&A environmentsUnderstanding corporate finance, deal structuring and investor relationsAbility to  manage multiple stakeholders and complex timelinesExcellent communication and negotiation skills
