As an AWS and Azure Cloud Intelligence Solution Architect, you will be a recognized expert advising customers on the nuances and strengths of AWS and Azure. You will develop cloud migration, modernization, and multi-cloud acumen to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that solve customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services. You will understand cloud economics to drive the highest value for our customers. After your engagements and cloud ecosystem explorations, you will document and share your insights to train the AWS field and enhance our service offerings.
The AWS Cloud Intelligence team is a specialty services organization that provides cloud compete expertise globally. We are subject matter experts (SMEs) covering top and emerging competitors, key domains, and industry segments. Cloud Intelligence enables field teams to help their customers quickly by removing both business and technical blockers in the sales cycle. We advise account teams and their customers through at scale content, gather and analyze insights surrounding comparable cloud providers, and highlight product and position gaps that our customers are experiencing to continuously improve AWS’ overall value proposition. In addition to on-demand self-service resources, the CI team provides targeted support for specific competitive opportunities through one-to-one customer engagements. This team hires SAs and BDMs who are SMEs in one or more public clouds to advise AWS field teams on the best strategies to develop compelling business cases to support customers co-existing and partnering with competing public cloud services.
Ideal candidates bring deep, hands-on expertise with multiple public cloud providers and a desire to staying at the forefront of cloud and industry advancements. They must have the technical depth and business experience to communicate the benefits of AWS services to IT architects, engineering teams, and C-Level executives. They must be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams and think strategically to solve complex business and technical problems. They must have the inclination to share their insights and educate peers to foster a technical community of SMEs. Exceptional communication and strategic thinking are essential to succeed in this role.
Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a technical expert in both AWS and Azure, supporting customers with complex commercial and technical challenges.
- Stay up-to-date with Azure service offerings to extract technical and business insights that drive reference architectures, runbooks, blogs, and training content.
- Deliver technical and business presentations to internal audiences (field SAs, BDMs, consultants, and product engineering) and external audiences (industry and partner events).
- Work with customers and internal teams to create Proof of Concept (POCs), pilots, and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) that demonstrate solutions designed for successful deployment and operationalization in AWS cloud.
- Lead cross-functional, cross-organization initiatives that drive thought leadership on multi-cloud and Azure migration scenarios.
- Act as liaison between customers and our engineering teams; champion the top customer asks so they are prioritized in AWS roadmap
- Mentor and lead other SAs. Create and scale best practices across the broader SA field community.

The AWS Cloud Economics team helps customers identify and quantify value creation opportunities at each stage of their journey to the cloud. We engage directly and collaboratively with customers, partners and internal AWS teams to deliver cloud value advisory expertise, business value case development, and Cloud Financial Management best practices and methodologies. The Cloud Economics team can help answer the customer question: “What value can I expect to achieve by using AWS?”
