The Role
As a Principal Risk Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Ensuring that our project delivery teams understand the Risk and Uncertainty within their contracts and are managing it effectively to deliver for the Business and our Customers.
Day-to-day, you’ll support one or more of our Major Projects throughout the project lifecycle by owning the Project Risk Management processes and leading and supporting their implementation.
Author, implement and maintain the Project Risk Management plan, taking all contractual requirements and project complexity into consideration. Input on Risk Management in other key documents. Lead Risk identification activities and authoring for the Projects, actively maintain and manage the Projects Risk Registers in the database, ensuring data quality. Conduct Quantitative Risk Analysis for the Projects including running SRA in Safran and assessing Cost exposure through quantitative methods. Manage and deliver Risk Reporting and KPIs in line with Stakeholder requirements and Babcock Project Management Framework Support the Discipline lead in the roll out of Risk Management training and guidance, acting as a lead professional with the Risk Community and providing subject matter expertise to the Projects and wider Business Unit within which they reside.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential Experience of the Principal Risk Manager
Recent experience as a Risk or Project Controls Professional, implementing Risk Management methodologies, processes, systems and tools throughout the project lifecycle. Identifying Risks through a variety of techniques, risk definition and analysis and treatment methodologies. Experience conducting Quantitative Risk Analysis, analysing Exposure, Uncertainty and setting Contingency. Experience managing and treating risk, influencing Project/Programme decision making and integrating with wider Project Controls processes, such as Baseline Management and Change. Integrated Risk, Assumption, Issue & Dependencies Management experience desirable.Qualifications for the Principal Risk Manager
Degree level qualification in Risk, Project Management, Engineering or related field desirable. Relevant certifications or qualifications in risk management or related fields e.g. Project Controls.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate can be eligible to start on Standard (BPSS) security clearance but would need to achieve Security Check (SC) security clearance.
