The Effector RF Products Team at Raytheon is seeking a talented Principal Engineer to join our team in Tucson, AZ.
The candidate will be responsible for leading and shaping the design and implementation of antenna, radome, and/or radar cross section (RCS) ranges and/or chambers within the company. The selected candidate will also be expected to lead teams, provide technical oversight, delegate tasks, and work with the Engineering organization to establish technology roadmaps, enable modernization, and contribute to general innovation. In addition, the candidate will work with government personnel and programs, and define and refine requirements to validate range and chamber compliance. The candidate will be responsible for providing guidance, coaching, mentoring, and training to other employees across the business within the candidate’s areas of expertise.
This position is an onsite role, located in Tucson, AZ.
What You Will Do
Develop antenna, radome, advanced sensor systems, and/or RCS ranges/chambersWork with interdisciplinary engineering teams including thermal, structural, mechanical, systems, etc.to define, analyze, simulate, implement, and evaluate requirements for ranges and/or chambers, including relevant test equipmentWork with chamber/range equipment and service suppliersOversee implementation of new ranges/chambers
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 6 years of experience to include any combination of the following:Testing of antennas or radomes in a chamber or test rangeOperation of an antenna, radome, and/or RCS chamber/rangeDemonstrated knowledge of antenna and/or sensor measurement theory and range operationThe ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Master of Science (MS) or PhD in electrical engineeringSignificant experience simulating and/or estimating the effects of propagation, reflections, and scattering on an antenna under test (AUT) in an anechoic chamberMeasurement of hardware for RCSSignificant experience specifying, building, and validating antenna, radome, and/or RCS ranges/chambersProficiency with Python, MATLAB and/or other high level scientific programming languagesProficiency with high performance computing (HPC) environments and schedulers such as SLURMProficiency with modeling & simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, FEKO, SENTRi and GRASPExperience designing and testing conformal antennasExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities from multiple sourcesStrong interpersonal skills working in a team environment with positive interactionDemonstrated ability to put forth and drive technical execution plansKnowledgeable of management processes, such as Earned ValueExperience presenting in technical reviewsUnderstanding of near-field-to-far-field processing algorithmsExperience designing datalink, flight termination, telemetry, and/or GPS antenna systemsExperience being a Cost Account Manager or Integrated Product Team LeadWhat We Offer

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
