Be\npart of a team assessing and driving achievement of program specific\nperformance within Honeywell Aerospace, Engines & Power Systems. This\nposition is in the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Project Engineering department\nlocated in Phoenix, Arizona. This position will provide you with the\nopportunity to join the team and work in all aspects of the Project Engineering\nrole supporting large commercial APUs. As a Principal Project Engineer, you\nwill be the primary technical decision maker. In this role, you will lead\ncross-functional teams, provide technical direction leading prioritization of\nwork packages, design goals and objectives, build strong working relationships\nwith our customers and drive overall program performance.

Our team’s customers\ninclude the leading commercial aircraft manufacturers around the world.\nThis role supports the Honeywell APUs that are in-service on Airbus commercial\naircraft. The opportunity also exists to work APU models used on Boeing and\nCOMAC commercial aircraft. Typical\nwork activities include service-related difficulty (SRD) root-cause\ninvestigation and resolution, cost and weight reduction, supplier coordination,\nproduction and overhaul support and advancing industry initiatives such as the validation\nand approval of 100% bio-fuels for use in our APUs.

Key ResponsibilitiesLeads APU design changes, corresponding\n qualification testing, and introduction of those changes.For service-related difficulties\n (SRDs) - Leads engineering investigation to identify root-cause.\n Identifies potential solutions to address root cause and then leads\n development, qualification and introduction of effective corrective\n actions, with customer approvals, to address root-cause.For Integrated Supply Chain (ISC)\n initiatives - Leads engineering work to support design / manufacturability\n changes including qualification and customer approvals.Builds and leads effective\n cross-functional teams to drive work assignments and project objectives.Establishes and maintains effective\n and responsive working relationships with counterparts at the aircraft manufacturers.Deciphers customer and\n airworthiness requirements and establishes corresponding APU certification\n plans.Follows both Honeywell and Customer\n change management processes for introduction of design changes. Implements Honeywell initiatives to\n drive corresponding program speed, agility and financial objectives.Establishes project plans including\n workscope with detailed budget, schedule and staffing plans.Works with Project Engineering\n Technical Leader, Program Manager and Program Planning & Control to\n drive compliance to established budget, schedule and staffing plans as the\n program progresses.Prepares technical presentations and presents information to internal and external customers.Completes documentation to support\n work being conducted including test procedures, test reports, general\n customer technical communication, service bulletins and aftermarket manual\n updates.Mentors early-career engineers.U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
