The Principal Machine Learning Engineer (PMLE) will serve as a key technical leader within US Foods’ Machine Learning Operations team and will help drive our advancements in AI and Generative AI. They will provide thought leadership across our Analytics & Data Science organization and work closely with ML Engineers, Data Scientists, and business leaders to design, develop, and deploy industry-leading AI solutions. Recognized as an ML expert, the Principal ML Engineer will collaborate with the Principal Data Scientist to establish and enforce best practices to ensure consistency and scalability of our models and applications our sellers, merchandisers and customers depend on. The Principal Machine Learning Engineer will play a critical role in bridging the gap between the development and deployment of ML models, ensuring an efficient transition from lab to production. The Principal ML Engineer will also guide our ML Ops team in building and automating ML CI/CD pipelines, containerizing models, orchestrating workflows, and monitoring production workloads. This position is virtual/remote which means the work can be completed from anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories. In California, the expected compensation for this role is between $132,200.00 and $263,000.00.
