  Role description:   

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Principal Hydrogeologist to join our dynamic and nationally respected Hydrogeology team. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with one of our Technical Directors, where you’ll provide expert hydrogeological services to support the delivery of proposal submissions and multi-disciplinary award-winning projects.

Role accountabilities:  

As a Principal Hydrogeologist, your role will include:

Working across a broad range of project types including engineering hydrogeology, groundwater contamination, water resource/catchment management, and impact assessment. Oversight and delivery of small to large-scale projects, including investigation, assessment, analysis, and reporting in line with industry best practices and principles. Developing and managing conceptual groundwater models, translating them into 2D and 3D models, and presenting outputs using tools such as GUIs, GIS, and MS Office applications. Maintaining clear communication with discipline leaders, clients, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met. Resolving technical challenges on projects and providing mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced team members. Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams and clients to ensure project integrity and success. Driving high-quality bid submissions and contributing to the growth of our hydrogeology portfolio. Encouraging innovative, entrepreneurial thinking to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.   Qualification & Experience:   

To thrive in this role, you will ideally possess:

A postgraduate degree in hydrogeology or a related field such as engineering geology, environmental engineering, or environmental science with a hydrogeological focus. At least 10 years of experience delivering hydrogeological solutions on engineering, water resource, or environmental projects. Strong knowledge of relevant State and Federal legislation, particularly regarding groundwater and contaminated land. Technical expertise, field experience, and skills aligned with the responsibilities of this position. Proficiency in numerical modelling packages such as SEEP/W, MODFLOW, FEFLOW, and GIS software. Proven experience managing multiple, complex projects to achieve successful outcomes for clients and stakeholders. A demonstrated ability to contribute to and manage successful project bids. Strong leadership qualities, including influencing, motivating, and delegation skills. Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
