Principal Human Resources Business Partner

The Principal HR Business Partner (HRBP) provides partnership, counsel, and guidance to leaders to support the strategy around workforce planning, organizational design, talent and performance management, training and development, compensation, benefits, and employee relations to deliver business solutions and services. Builds collaborative relationships with the HR team and customers; gains understanding of business plans and strategies to provide relevant insight and HR actions to support overall business objectives. This role will provide support to our Textron Systems – ATAC business located in the Alliance / Ft. Worth, TX area, along with responsibility for several remote locations outside of Texas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Consult with assigned leaders, including Executive and Senior Leadership team members, and provide recommendations in areas to include talent acquisition; performance and career management; organizational structure; work force planning; employee relation and performance improvement; pay for performance (Compensation philosophies); employee engagement; and change management.Understand overall business and functional strategy and objectives, competitive landscape, current and future business challenges to provide HR support and solutions.Provide guidance to help define talent needs, recruit and retain talent to meet the needs of the business, including internal growth and promotion opportunities to support talent mobility and retain top performers.Apply Talent Review and performance management processes to develop an accurate picture of leadership talent and development requirements and ensure execution of agreed talent development plans.Foster a culture of positive employee relations within and across the sites.Ensure compliance with local/state/federal laws, regulations, company policies and Textron Business Conduct Guidelines.Identify and lead process improvement opportunities, other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in business, communication, human resources or other related fields.Seven (7) years’ of human resources experience. Some cross functional/business experience outside of HR is a plus.HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, GPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.Possess an advanced level/range of functional human resources skills and experiences, including leadership and professional development, compensation, recruiting, and software applications (MS Office, Human Resources Information Systems, etc.).Ability to effectively communicate with and understand the needs of internal clients. Ability to effectively partner with senior leaders, professionals, and the hourly workforce, to understand needs and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations.Decisive, confident and trustworthy, open and candid with the ability to gain support and achieve results at all levels of the organization, while maintaining confidentiality. Strong sense of urgency and personal commitment.Ability to adapt and work in a team oriented, fast-paced, changing environment with competing and shifting priorities.20% travel will be required, which includes support at our remote sites. Experience working with the military or military background is a plus.Knowledge of California Labor Laws is desired but not required.
