Principal Full-Stack Software Engineer – Scale and Channel Optimization (SCO)

The Role

Are you an experienced Principal Full-Stack Engineer looking for an opportunity to leverage your development skills in the financial services space? As a principal engineer with Scale and Channel Optimization (SCO), you will be part of a diverse and collaborative team, laser-focused on delivering first-class solutions for our customers. You will work across a wide range of technologies, bringing deep technical experience across Angular, NodeJS, micro-services, and cloud.

The Value You Deliver

As a Principal Full-Stack Engineer in SCO, you will be responsible for:

Working as part of an agile SCRUM teamDeveloping, maintaining, and testing solutions across the Angular-Node-API-AWS tech stackDesigning and implementing solutions that align with the wider Fidelity technology strategyDocumenting & sharing technical solutions and diagramsDriving technical hygiene and adoption of engineering best practices and Fidelity standardsEffectively partnering and communicating with other engineers and stakeholders across SCO and the wider companyPerforming code reviews, unit testing, and integration testingIdentifying and resolving issues within the production and non-production environments

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

Bachelor's / Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or EngineeringStrong problem-solving skills within complex, distributed deployments8+ years of hands-on development experience with Angular, NodeJS, and Java microservicesGood understanding of cloud-computing and software development on AWSPractical experience with containerization and KubernetesComfortable working in a mature development environment that leverages standard CI/CD tools and pipelines (Jenkins, Artifactory, uDeploy, etc)Hands-on experience with logging and monitoring tools – Splunk and DatadogEffective communication skills with technical and non-technical teammatesA positive attitude and strong work-ethic

The Team

Our chapter area supports the Scale and Channel Optimization product area, whose mission is to drive scale and efficiency across the interactions between Wealth Management Teams and their clients by optimizing opportunities, driving digital appointments and digitizing client plan implementation.  The applications in our product suite support both customers and advisors to enhance communication, streamline processes, uncover opportunities, deepen relationships, and ultimately drive business growth by ensuring that every interaction is meaningful and productive. Engineers in our area work closely with product managers and stakeholders to ensure that our digital solutions meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.

Your work will support the growth and client experience for Fidelity’s Personal Investing business.
