Principal Engineer Firmware

Then we have just the right position for you! As a Principal Engineer Firmware (f/m/d) you will drive firmware innovation to ensure Infineon’s competitiveness in the future. In your new role you will:

• Drive firmware innovation to ensure Infineon’s competitiveness in the future

• Develop, implement and own the firmware for our next generation power conversion solutions, with a strong focus on power supply applications

• Analyze, design and optimize firmware architectures for microcontroller-based systems

• Explore and develop new concepts with respect to power conversion

• Write, test and debug firmware in close collaboration with ourhardware teams.

• Take on technical leadership within projects and support the team through mentoring and knowledge sharing

• Contribute to Model-Based Design (MBD) using tools like MATLAB/Simulink

• Work on simulations, Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing and verification processes

Your Profile

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

• A Master or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems or a related field

• At least 5 years of professional experience within the power electronics market and with the power conversion

• Experience in designing firmware for power electronic systems or other critical systems that have been successfully deployed at scale

• Knowledge of power supply topologies like Totem Pole PFC and Resonant LLC converter

• Solid knowledge of power electronics, particularly in power supply

• Good experience in power conversion from AC to DC and DC to DC

• Expertise in C programming and experience with at least one type of microcontroller

• Basic understanding of Model-Based Design (MATLAB/Simulink or similar tools) and hands on experience with power supplies

• Experience in simulations, verification, or Hardware-in-the-Loop systems

• Strong soft skills: Team player, excellent communication abilities and capable of taking on a Technical Lead role
