Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

• Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team

Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertiseDevelops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by othersParticipates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverablesDevelops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projectsUses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E packagePerforms quality control review of design calculations or drawingsPrepares technical specification sectionsProvides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirementsLeads complex electrical engineering projects from conception to completionMentors and guides junior engineers in electrical design principles and best practicesCollaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of electrical systems with other engineering disciplinesDevelops and implements innovative solutions to improve electrical system efficiency and performanceEnsures compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulationsConducts feasibility studies and risk assessments for new electrical engineering projectsRepresents the company in technical discussions with clients and stakeholdersParticipates in the development of electrical engineering standards and best practices for the organizationConducts periodic reviews of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safetyCoordinates with vendors and suppliers to source appropriate electrical components and equipmentDevelops and delivers technical presentations and training sessions for internal teams and clientsContributes to the company's thought leadership by writing technical articles or presenting at industry conferences

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

 

Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.Chartered Engineer (CEng), or Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent in the relevant field from any global organization (e.g., Institution of Electrical Engineers, UK)Overall 13+ years of work experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or lead role.Extensive knowledge of electrical systems design, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and electrical engineering simulation tools.Strong understanding of national and international electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEC).Demonstrated experience in managing complex electrical engineering projects from conception to completion.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions for electrical engineering challenges.Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop junior engineers.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present technical information to diverse audiences.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.Additional certifications such as LEED AP, Energy Management Professional (EMP), or Certified Energy Manager (CEM).Experience with renewable energy systems and smart grid technologies.Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) and its application in electrical design.Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
