Your Role at Baxter

Our work in research and development has a direct impact on improving patient outcomes worldwide. As a Principal Engineer at Baxter, you will play a crucial role in making a difference in the lives of others. Collaboration and leadership are key aspects of this position, as you will work closely with teams and lead by influence. This role involves guiding teams through projects and managing direct reports, where your expertise in research and development will be instrumental in inspiring others to achieve desired outcomes.

What you'll be doingLead and perform medical device design projects, analyze gaps, and integrate project strategies across various areas of expertise.Evaluate alternatives against agreed criteria and select strategies and appropriate level of risk.Plan and schedule project implementation, defining scope of work for the project team.Develop a strategic resource plan across multiple global locations and engineering resources.Partner with other Baxter functional teams, R&D team members, and external testing labs to develop product design and study layout.Follow product development and lifecycle management, adhering to Baxter policies, standards, engineering techniques, tools, and methodologies.What you'll bring

Minimum requirements:

Expertise in two or more of the following technical areas: polymer chemistry, polymer physics, polymer synthesis, polymer extrusion/molding, polymer characterization, medical device development, and validation in infusion system.Solid understanding of observational research methodologies and complex problem-solving techniques.Good understanding of regulations applicable for medical devices.Good spoken, written, and oral English, fluent in technical writing.Preferred requirements:Green Belt certification, versed in lean principles, Six Sigma Engineer certification.Ability to contribute with innovation and ideas in accordance with customer requirements, project goals, design requirements, and regulatory requirements.Stay updated on the latest technical advancements and trends in your area of expertise.Strong new product development and product design experience in medical devices.Educational background in polymer material science & engineering; medical devices related major.Equal Employment Opportunity
