About the Role
As the technology owner, principal engineer is assigned to support competency build up for specific technology domain. This role is also responsible for new technology study and deployment on NPI project. Besides innovations, this role is also expected to complete software requirement analysis, architecture design, and high level design for NPI projects. During project development stage this role will lead and coach junior teammates to deliver product software.
What You Will Do
Maintain master/generic requirements, build technology competency, and define technology roadmap for specific technology domain.Hunting proper technique solutions to match with our technology and product roadmap.Reviews product requirements and get it translated into software requirements.Complete software architecture design and high level design with maximum reusage mindset. Review detailed (low level) design with teammates.Taking lead on the new process, innovation, IP patenting and new standard development.Timely escalation to team leader when there is a major issue that would significantly impact program schedule, cost and quality.What You Need
Minimum of bachelor’s degree in mathematics, electronics, software, communication, or automation (or appropriate graduation).Experience on sensor algorithm for environmental awareness, in-door locating, distance measurements, head tracking, body and/or gesture detection, biological information detection, etc.Domain knowledge on machine learning and edge AI (for sensor application).8+ years of consumer electrical product engineering and development experience with software engineering mindset.Familiar with popular code repository management tools like git/svn/fossil.Hands on experience on C++ programming language and software development in Linux environments.Familiar with electronic schematic reading. Able to do software bring-up on product PCBA according to corresponding hardware design.Good verbal and written communications skills, including technical documentation using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.Ability of teamwork.Good knowledge in spoken and written English.Ability to work under pressure.HARMAN is proud to be an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
