Principal Content Designer - Xbox

We seek a principal content designer to join our team and take charge of Xbox Rewards’ in-product language and content strategy! In this Principal Content Designer role, you’ll collaborate with design, product engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless product flows, engaging web content, and effective educational materials that benefit both gamers and Xbox. You’ll develop innovative content pipelines and workflows to keep users engaged and actively using our products and services. By leveraging your content design expertise, you’ll help create a leading rewards program, drawing insights from industry trends and driving innovation. Your voice will be crucial in design critiques, where you’ll solicit feedback to craft superior products for our users. As part of a product team, you’ll collaborate daily to deliver high-quality experiences that meet business objectives. Additionally, you’ll work alongside visual designers, creating or assisting in producing high-fidelity design mocks using Figma. You'll create and extend style and usage guidance across product families. You'll produce novel ideas for simpler, modern, and better solution + As you shepherd complex end-to-end product experiences, you will lead the combination of user experience thinking and design execution for intuitive, optimized architecture. You will raise the bar for content and experience design, coaching the creation of accessible, usable, understandable structure for product content and messaging. + You will champion a shared vision to build products at scale. With deep domain and business landscape knowledge, you will propose a design prototype, make the case for investments, and set examples and standards for the future of content design. + You will advocate for your design system to drive cross-discipline alignment across product families, leading innovation and investment in the future of content design. As you define marketing strategy, you will devise positioning and creative guidance for the customer journey. + You will lead brainstorming sessions and/or workshops that answer critical business questions. You will mentor, influence, and sell work to amplify capabilities and broaden its impact; convey confidence, vision, and data-based decision-making; gather frustration-free feedback; and present ideas and concepts. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Humanities, Digital Communications, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design, copywriting, technical writing, writing (e.g. for marketing, advertising, e-commerce), brand design, or brand marketing + OR Master's Degree in Arts, Humanities, Digital Communications, UX Design, Human Computer Interaction, Communications, English, Journalism, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design + OR equivalent experience + Proven experience leading projects independently and managing complex situations. + Portfiolio of writing and content samples available for review. + Business level fluency to read, write and speak North American English. **Preferred qualifications** **:** + Natural and inquisitive passion for modern technology.  + Experience working with the Design discipline (interaction, visual, research) and user research. + Agency copywriting experience.  + Experience with content publishing tools and engineering systems. + Proficient with editing copy in design software like Figma. + Flexible, versatile writing across form factors, subject matter, and audiences.   + Experience with instructional video and visuals.  + Self-motivated collaboration and problem-solving skills.  + Ability to simplify and communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences. Content Design IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
