The Work You'll Do:

The Principal Architect will lead the design and development of the next generation of global web application experiences for our Platform. This role provides guidance across multiple functional and technical areas within Product Development, including business analysis, application design, development, integration, and delivery. The Principal Architect will leverage modern web frameworks and Sovos’ Design System (Mosaic) to build scalable, high-quality solutions.

 More specifically, you will:

Design and architect web applications using modern frameworks. Lead the team in building highly scalable solutions across our portfolio, including shared services used globally. Develop technical design documents and blueprints for the adoption of components and services, including UI libraries and platform experiences. Collaborate with Product Management to ensure project specifications are complete, clearly understood by the Technology team, and that the final product meets all functional and non-functional requirements. Apply expertise in solution architecture, including SDLC processes, security, high availability, recovery, performance, monitoring, operations design, and application architecture. Demonstrated experience in shipping and maintaining component libraries and shared services. Work as an agile architect in a Scrum-based development environment. Partner with other architects and senior technology leaders across the company to ensure coordinated and efficient technology adoption.

What We Need From You

10+ years of experience in solution architecture, design, estimation, and technical project leadership. Proven ability to guide and support teams in software product development. Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Technical expertise in JavaScript and modern UI frameworks, with experience in Java and .NET service-oriented systems. Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative environment while also working independently. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with sound business acumen and executive presence. Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire

At Sovos, we are committed to offering competitive pay and benefits that reflect both industry and market standards.   

We expect that this role will pay a base salary that ranges between $150,000 and $212,500 annually.  Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience.  While we are committed to giving an overview of compensation, salary is just one component of our comprehensive Total Rewards package.  We offer a host of additional benefits, including:
