Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM) business unit is looking for Data Technology with strong expertise definition and execution of large data program out of India. The role is high touch position with a notable amount of collaboration across teams in building business solutions. It is expected that this individual has considerable experience and strong technical background to gain the respect of senior software development staff. 

This individual is a multi-tasker at heart, with strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset that thrives in a fast-paced organization. The ideal candidate would engage NTAM business leaders, understanding business needs, lead data architecture, solution and model designing, help execute solution build and business enablement.

Technologist with Data Product mindset eager to extend strategic data platform build.Evangelize data strategy among stakeholders such as business users, CDO office  and various teams through conceptual design, documentation, review and cross team negotiations to support strategic business goalsLead the architecture and governance led design for building Operational Data Store, Data Hubs, Data Marts, and Analytics  to meet business needs.Expertise in designing data solution on Snowflake cloud data warehouse and Azure Databricks.Must have experience in democratizing the data for self serviceLiaison with several Chicago-based teams on projects,  strategic data architecture goals, data requirements, and troubleshootingEstablish performance benchmarks and enable periodic validationEstablish governance and help build the solutions using inhouse platform or vended solutions for lineage , data triage and data qualityHelp the Functional lead in  building strong team/technical competencies.Be a mentor and groom the next gen architectsInfluencing the teams through knowledge and data and help build their knowledge on end to end solution considerations using domain driven design and other modern engineering practices.Ensures adherence to organizational policies, guidelines and processesCollaborate and contribute to enterprise data mesh and contribute to enterprise architecture standardsFollow and refine the architecture review board practices

Skills/ Experience

Demonstrated leadership and cross functional collaboration experienceExcellent communication skillsStrong architecture and conceptual, Logical and physical modelling skillsStrong hands on experience on public and private cloudsExpert in vault modelling , dimensional modelling and operational modellingEvident experience on RBDMS like Oracle , Sql Server and Cloud databases like ADLS, Snowflake and Redshift etc.Ability to work under pressure and to prioritise tasksAbility to drive the data driven story through conceptual modelsStrong data analytical skillsExperience in various modelling techniquesShould have experience in machine learning modelsExperience in python or equivalent scripting languageEncryption and decryption techniques for on prem and on cloud to manage PII data encryptionData creation using data generators or using data generation techniques for areas where new data needs to be created for developmentMethods of data distribution, visualization and self service driven Data managementInvestment management, Wealth Management or Asset Management experience recommended.Knowledge of applying agile methodologies (Kanban, Iterative Waterfall, hybrid-Agile) and experience handling teams with different maturity of agile practices.Excellent consultative and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with client, partner, and IT management and staff.Thoroughly understands decision process issues of technology choice, such as capacities, response time, data interfacing, client server communication, industry standard technologies and new industry trends, etc.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent.Minimum 15 years of overall experience, with at least 10 years in data architecture, governance and modellingExpert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and data architecture.Experience in performance recommendations for data distribution and consumptionExperience with Azure cloud services to provide technology solution to business problems.Past data analytics (AI/ML/GenAI) experience a big plus.

Recommended Skills

Technical experience with various Data Management development tools, utilities, and frameworks such as Meta data driven frameworks , ODI,  IBM DataStage, Informatica, Oracle , PL/SQL, Meta data management, and Master Data concepts.   Additional application development utilizes Java Spring Frameworks,  server-side JavaScript, and NoSQL data utilitiesInterpret business requirement and functional requirements to guide  developers and/or testers in their job dutiesAbility to guide and direct resources performing complex data analysis across two or more separate databases.  Provide guidance on giving presentation of summary of analysis.Upto date with emerging trends in technology such as Public/Private Cloud Technologies as it relates to Data Management, PII management, Financial Services Regulations.Ability to build read data models and explain data Entity-Relationships to ETL developers and java developers.Ability to show the technical functionality to business using conceptual models to track all the flows for both functional and nonfunctional requirements
