Primary Purpose PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION The Principal Strat Analyst will lead the analysis, design and development of models to support overall strategic planning for innovative utility platform initiatives. As a member of the Strategic Planning team, the successful candidate will collaborate directly with policy experts, finance, and regulatory teams across the company. Will apply quantitative techniques to measure and analyze model risks and form opinions on the strengths and limitations of the respective models. A solid understanding of traditional financial valuation and modeling techniques along with a strong foundation in statistical methods and data analysis is essential. Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. Primary Duties PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Support analysis and development of strategic issues and options. Conduct research on issues and serve as project analyst for strategy/planning initiatives. Provide support within strategy for achieving multiple, concurrent results on strategic issues, strategic planning, and strategic communications and business literacy. Survey external industry data and stay current on industry trends/developments of importance to the company. Develop and maintain subject matter expertise on assigned topical areas. Build relationships with subject matter experts. Provide periodic updates to Strategy team and other relevant groups. Job Scope JOB SCOPE Independent contributor, reporting to Sr. Manager, Strategic Planning Takes direction from VP, Directors and/or project team leads Frames and conducts analysis on strategic issues Interacts regularly with key managers and executives on issues Provides periodic written/oral presentations to key managers and executives on analysis of issues Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 4-yr relevant degree and a minimum of 8 to 10 years of industry/related experience Excellent analytical skills -demonstrated financial/quantitative and qualitative analytical skills. Ability to frame ambiguous issues and structure appropriate analysis. Demonstrated ability to apply strategic and critical thinking to problem solving. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work productively with diverse teams. Solid written and oral communication skills ability to translate analysis into key messages and develop story line associated with project analysis. Ability to work independently to advance assignments and developing ability to drive efforts to completion. Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in business, economics, engineering or other related discipline Energy industry and markets experience Experience with utility financial modeling Benefits Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors:USD $113,600.00/Yr. - USD $170,400.00/Yr.
