OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

The Pricing Operations & Data Solutions Lead will help establish a global price governance and pricing data solutions presence in ICC Bangalore. This will involve working closely with stakeholders across different teams and functions (pricing, finance, pricing platform vendor, DD&T, etc.)The role will provide strategic direction and oversight in the establishment of capabilities around price governance and enable pricing analytic activities through the delivery of appropriate pricing data solutions (pricing data delivery and reporting)The role requires an SME in pricing and access systems with demonstrated experience of people management and of working with senior internal stakeholders, and has experience building such capabilities in India. Knowledge of pharmaceutical pricing processes will be advantageousAn essential component of the role is to foster an understanding of pricing decision-making and related impact on access and business across partner functions as necessary. The role requires the right capabilities and the right mindset to drive collaboration, impact, and innovation to realize our short- and long-term goals to fulfill our vision

ACCOUNTABILITIES

This role will have an operational reporting line into the GPP Delivery Lead and a functional reporting line into the Global Pricing Operational Excellence Lead. Key accountabilities of this role will fall under two major categories as outlined below.

Lead key price governance accountabilities such as:

Access pricing requests from regions/countries on list price changes, launches and withdrawals and facilitate price changes/finalization in PRU based on documented pricing guidance and predefined template by working closely with GPP (Global Pricing & Policy), Regions, and country affiliates (LOCs)Standard pricing processes for global brands including price verification review (PVR), price assumptions review (PAR), and price change processesPartner with pricing analytics colleagues to deliver IRP assessments and launch strategy optimization processesPerformance of data quality check in pricing platform for price launch and price change request and follow up with initiating and impacted countries to validate expected price changes where requiredEnsure data accuracy in collaboration with regions and LOCs and embed data consistency checks (e.g. data comparison across internal PRU system vs. external Pricentric database)Be involved in or drive automation initiatives for pricing governance processes (change requests management and tracking, pricing assumptions and validations (PAR/PVR) compared to data from Finance systems, data quality rules setup, etc)Support the answering of ad-hoc pricing queries from LOCs or regional teams (e.g. provide list prices information across countries)The role will also partner with stakeholders to support data security and user access management activities

Lead key pricing data accountabilities such as:

Understand data and insights needs of key stakeholders including the GPP, regional and/or local pricing teamsDesign, develop, and maintain clear and concise interactive dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools to analyze and visualize pricing data to enable identification of trends and generate insights across various products and marketsEnsure that Takeda’s price management system (PriceRightUnity, PRU) and the linkages to relevant databases are built in alignment with business processes to drive optimal impactWork to ensure proper data integration, storage, and retrieval processes to support robust pricing analytics. Implement and maintain data governance practices and ensure that all data used in pricing analysis is up-to-date, accurate, relevant, and in compliance with organizational standardsCo-lead, with IT, further development, and implementation of PRU updates (launch planning and price referencing models, decision recording database, pricing database). Strive for continued simplicity and ease of use and business value, implementing automation where possible to streamline reporting processesContinuously explore and evaluate other effective tools for pricing analytics, staying updated on industry trends and the state of the art in pricing processes

Work effectively across functions and geographies with a focus on customer needs to achieve goals and ensure stakeholder alignment, including the delivery of training programs to raise awareness and adherence to pricing processes, governance, and pricing toolsBe actively involved in ensuring continuity of business processes alongside development and furthering of the team’s functional capabilitiesTake a leading role towards supporting the buildup of strategic pricing capabilities and embed pricing excellence within the organization.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Essential

Bachelor's in economics, engineering or business, with a tech focus (e.g. IT, systems administration). A Master’s degree is a plusMinimum 10 years' experience in life sciences and tech or pricing and access system-related activities, with a successful track record of delivering measurable business results. Knowledge of pharmaceutical pricing processes will confer a definite edgeProficient in IT systems terminology with strong organizational and office technology skillsProcess oriented and able to lead the building, implementation and execution of complex processesStrategic mindset, critical thinker and problem solverComfortable with ambiguity and experience of working in multi-matriced organizations and with international cross-functional teams and stakeholdersExcellent communications skills and a team player with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across functions
