The Press Operator sets up and operates equipment that mixes and/or blends ingredients used in the food manufacturing environment of pasta products. Operates and monitors pasta processing equipment and raw material handling systems and monitor dryers and finished product for conformance to specifications. Schedule to be determined at time of hire. **Work Location:** 20-01 Broadway, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410 **Benefits:** Based on Union Contract Provisions **Salary, based on experience and other qualifications:** $23.27 Per Hour with $0.25 shift differential for 2nd and $0.35 for 3rd shift **Essential Duties & Responsibilities** 1. Operates pasta press extrusion equipment at required parameters including starting and stopping equipment under normal and emergency situations. 2. Maintains the presses and dryers at the established parameters to produce pasta and noodles to customer specification. 3. Monitors, adjusts and records product measurements to meet specifications. 4. Checks for improper cut / shapes and makes corrections as needed. 5. Maintains Quality Control paperwork as specified. 6. Monitors the production equipment for failures. 7. Monitors Die Wash operations 8. Provides knife management and preparation. 9. Assists with changeovers and changeover sanitation. 10. Washes dies. 11. Weighs waste at end of shift and record weights on appropriate press sheet. 12. Provides sanitation responsibilities. 13. Sanitizes and stores dies, die rings, die screens in prescribed manner. 14. Other duties as assigned by Lead and/or Management. **Education** High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience. **Qualifications** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Required to move equipment/dies up to a weight of 150 pounds. Have the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds up to 65% of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear, climb stairs, use hands to finger, handle or feel, push/pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and reach with hands and arms 2/3’s of the time. Must be able to climb ladders and work on platforms at elevations of 100 feet. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers. **Work Environment** The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is loud. Have the ability to perform all above tasks in an environment of 90 degrees F or greater up to 80% of the shift or greater than 100 degrees F for 30-minute intervals. Also have the ability to perform the above tasks in an environment of up to 35% Relative Humidity. **Safety Responsibilities** Be able to work and perform tasks in a confined space as needed. Be able to wear appropriate hearing protection for the whole shift. Be able to perform lockout/tagout procedures on equipment once trained. To be able to always work safely in and around equipment. This position is in a food manufacturing facility with temperatures of +90–115 degrees, relative humidity 50-70%, and machinery noise. Hearing protection, steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and beard/hair restraints are required.
