INTRODUCTION
This position is responsible for setting up the press for the operators using the required materials for the particular product that is being produced (paper, ink, etc.) per job ticket and schedule.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review job tickets and schedule then organizes and prepares loads for pressesOperates load turner effectivelyBring material to each machine for job runsMix inks as needed and change ink drumsPull ink, paper, chemicals, special sheetsCommunicates effectively with press crew, materials handlers, and supervisorsFollows instructions and works with press crews on the presses when requiredMaintains housekeeping in assigned areas of the pressroom (e.g., sweeping, emptying trash cans, etc.) as neededStocks shelves with incoming inventory or ordered items when requiredCleans cutting area as neededPerforms other job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to operate fork truck and electric jack truckAble to learn how to handle/log thin weight stocksMust be willing to work overtime as needed; significant overtime may be required during busy periodsMust have demonstrated mechanical aptitude through prior work experienceMust pass color vision and hue testsBasic computer skills required (email, word processing, etc.)Good attendance and reliability is essentialMust be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation Candidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
