The preschool assistant teacher organizes and conducts day-to-day educational activities for children ages 12mo to 5 years, to children with and without autism spectrum disorder in an inclusive classroom. Working with the lead teacher, follows appropriate curriculum for the classroom. Helps the lead teacher provideeducational activities and support to promote language, social, and adaptive behavior development. Supports the lead teacher in implementing activities,preparation, set-up and clean-up as well as classroom environmental set-up. Monitors child activity and behavior within the classroom. Ensures compliance withstate, university, and practice policies and procedures for all staff. Performs related responsibilities as required.
At least one year experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities preferred.

DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION:
Under direct supervision, the Assistant Preschool Teacher conducts day-to-day educational activities for children ages 12 months to 5 years of age, to children with and without autism spectrum disorder in an inclusive preschool classroom. Provides educational activities and support to promote language, social, and adaptive behavior development. Support will include activity, preparation, set-up and clean-up as well as classroom environmental set-up. Monitors child activity and behavior within the classroom. Performs related responsibilities as required.ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:
Must have reliable transportation and pass background check. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma/GED. Priority will be given to completion of one year of college coursework toward a degree in early childhood education, special education, psychology, human development, or related field. May pursue Early Childhood Education degree/credential/certificate within first year of hire. Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation and pass a background check.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
At least one year of experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities. Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Special Education, Behavioral Science, or related field preferred. Associate degree with ECE major Montessori diploma from a Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE) Program Technical CollegeDiploma (TCD) with ECE major Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) with ECE major.At least one year experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities preferred.
