General DescriptionThe Premium Banker provides personalized financial orientations through financial planning tools, in order to help clients reach their goals. Responsible for cross-selling initiatives to grow and deepen client relationships, achieving sales targets to increase market share. Must attain a high level of client satisfaction and retention.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities• Confidently build effective, trust-based relationships with clients by listening and uncovering their needs to gain in-depth knowledge of client’s financial life priorities and provide the products/services that are most appropriate for their situation.
• Relationship and new business development by proposing suitable financial solutions and establish implementation timeline according to the clients’ financial needs and life stage (client interviewing, consultative sales, proposal preparation and presentation).
• Develops and maintains knowledge of financial industry, economy, market conditions, rates, and competition.
• Cultivate internal partnerships with Branch Managers to promote integrated sales and service efforts across Popular.
• Retention of the current business
• Research available retail banking products, mortgages, leases/auto loans, investment, and insurance opportunities to determine whether they fit into client’s financial goals.
• Identify opportunities to deliver appropriate retail banking products, mortgages, leases/auto loans, investment, insurance, and financial planning to determine whether they fit into client’s financial goals.
• Maintain and develop relationships with customers in person, via telephone calls, teams, and e-mails.
• Timely response to incoming e-mail, phone inquiries and required contacts.
• Maintain client data (financial orientations, opportunities and sales) up to date in CRM system
• Self-monitoring of sales performance
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Business Administration or related fields, preferably in Finance and Accounting from a four-year college or university.
ExperienceA minimum of three (3) years in the banking industry is required, and 3-5 years in sales experience in retail banking products is preferred.
Certifications / LicensesFinancial Para-Planner Certification*
Life Insurance License*
*The candidate will be required to pass the Financial Para-Planner and Life Insurance exams within a period of 6 months after starting in this role. If the candidate does not pass, the job change will not take place and will be reassigned to the same or similar unit based on business needs.
• Candidate must be fully bilingual (English and Spanish) in both oral and written communication.
• Knowledge in Retail Banking products and the ability to educate and provide information to clients and co-workers.
• Highly effective interpersonal skills to maintain / develop client relationships
• Excellent sales, communication and presentation skills
• Skills in Office 365 systems such as Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams among others.
• Well organized and customer service oriented
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to identify problems, analyze their causes and resolve them in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and delivery dates.
• Ability to adapt to changes, new situations, and work under pressure.
• Focused on achieving and or exceeding results through collaboration and teamwork.

Flexibility to work non-business hours, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays when needed.
