Job Description
As a Powertrain Calibration Project Lead, you will be responsible for running emission tests, evaluating data for failures, and ensuring products reach production standards. You will perform vehicle-level testing both on the road and in the lab, support high warranty spend/failure rate subsystems, and analyze warranty data to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Additionally, you will lead team meetings, document lessons learned, and proactively follow through on responsible activities to meet milestones and deliverables.
ResponsibilitiesRun emission tests and evaluate data for failures to help products reach production.Perform vehicle-level testing on road and in lab for On-Board Diagnostics.Support HTIS Quality Projects using DFSS and 8D processes to meet aggressive timelines.Analyze warranty data and part returns to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.Design, execute, or coordinate analytical and physical testing from component bench level to full powertrain/vehicle testing.Present project status and results to senior management, and interface regularly with quality and core engineers.Develop relationships with dealerships and fleets to resolve quality issues related to warranty and repairs.Understand different types of repairs, set up work plans, and follow up to reduce timelines for fixing issues.Lead and attend team meetings.Document lessons learned for knowledge preservation.Proactively follow through on responsible activities and documentation to meet milestones and deliverables.Essential SkillsExperience in warranty and failure mode analysis.Experience working on customer concerns and resolutions (problem solving).Knowledge and experience in automotive powertrain.Project management skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years for Intermediate level or 5+ years for Senior level of demonstrated automotive experience.Experience in resolving customer concerns in a timely manner.Experience in quality improvement projects using DFSS, 8D, or other Six Sigma processes.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for presentations and project tracking.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field.Work Environment
You will work in a dynamic environment that involves both lab and road testing. The role requires close collaboration with quality and core engineers, as well as developing relationships with dealerships and fleets. You will use various tools and technologies to analyze data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $44.50/hr.
