Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot and repair electric power generation equipment including gas and diesel powered generators, electrical transfer switches, electrical switchgear, circuit breakers and other related equipmentRespond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performedMaintain a clean and safe work area, adhere to all safety procedures; maintain a service vehicle in a clean and professional manner, and ensure the vehicle is properly maintainedPositively interact with manager and team members to satisfy customer needsProvides assistance to other technicians as needed in regard to troubleshooting repairsCommunicate job status with supervisor and communicate when the job is completed to receive subsequent assignments.Submit a detailed service report explaining work that was completed and also document any deficiencies that will need to be addressed with the customer.Service reports should be submitted daily after completion of a job.Document labor and additional segments to assure service calls can be closed, invoiced and communicated to the customer.Willing to respond to after hour emergency calls as directed by supervisor.Identify and communicate parts needs for service calls or inventoryPerforms other duties as assigned/requiredQualifications:
2-year technical degree or high school diploma and several years of comparable electrical services experience5+ years of relevant experience in troubleshooting & repair of electrical gear and generators Knowledge of electricity and electronics, engine diagnostics, failure analysisPossesses the ability to diagnose all equipment without supervision; is also able to read, follow, understand, and communicate schematics. Personal characteristics: Desire to provide outstanding, professional customer service, strong attention to detail, excellent problem solver, committed, and possesses written and verbal communication skillsAbility to maintain safe and clean work environment and operate equipment safelyWilling and able to respond to after-hour emergency calls as directed by supervisorBasic computer skillsOwn mechanic tool setMust have and maintain a clean driving recordClass A CDL or willingness to obtain one within a defined period of timeObtain a DOT medical certification cardPass a DOT pre-employment drug screen & physicalAble to operate equipment safelyThis role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirementMinimum Physical Requirements:
Push/pull up to 50 lbs
Lift/carry up to 60 lbs
Lift bulky objects
Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.
Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
