Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Each day, you will ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by acting as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completing the corresponding engineering assignments.The work model for the role is: hybrid (#Li-Hybrid) and requires travel throughout the year.This role is contributing to the Process Automation Marine Ports business in Houston, TX. There could be flexibility in the living location as long as it's within the Gulf Coast.You will be mainly accountable for:-Quality Assurance and Compliance: Secure QA for the assigned power package within the contractual scope, ensuring compliance with HSE rules and regulations.-Communication and Coordination: Manage technical communications with customers, class, and sub-suppliers, ensuring all changes and additional requirements are properly handled.-Approvals and Documentation: Obtain necessary client approvals for design, drawings, quality, and inspections, document verbal agreements, and ensure third-party approvals and transmission of required documents.-Feedback and Change Management: Provide feedback to the Project Manager on issues and progress, communicate requests for changes beyond the contract scope, and handle change management for software and hardware.-Planning and Cyber Security: Plan and schedule activities within the discipline, coordinate with the Project Manager, ensure cyber security implementation, and deliver final documentation post-commissioning.
Qualifications for the roleEngineering Degree and 2+ years of experience in Drive and Motor application required Experience with ABB Drive Systems (ACS880 &/or ACS6080) and ABB 800XA Control Systems is preferred Previous experience with the U.S. Coast Guard or U.S. Navy is preferred Familiar with marine industry standard codes and classification society regulations (DNV, ABS, USCG), experience in marine system integration involving energy storage, power generation and distribution (AC & DC), hybrid multi-drive systems, low voltage AC switchgear system design, and performing power system studies in ETAP and MATLAB is helpfulAbility to lead multiple systems, develop technical specifications, protection and control functions descriptions, input/output lists, commissioning checklists, review technical proposals, FAT procedures, interconnection diagrams, cable selection and design, UPS load calculations, ELA analysis, DC switchboard design, and contribute to FMA, DVTP, PSTP documents is helpfulThis position requires the candidate to be a U.S. citizen or possess a valid U.S. Green Card due to the activities of the role
