Since 2011, Raytheon Australia have been contracted to deliver facilities services in support of the Harold E. Holt (HEH) Defence Precinct in Exmouth, Western Australia. Home to the Space Surveillance Telescope (SST), the C-Band Radar and Very Low Frequency (VLF) radio transmission capability, together these systems add a critical contribution to Australia's space domain awareness and battlespace awareness missions.

Right now, we are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking a bright and energised Power Generation Operator to join our inspired team.

To support our mission, Raytheon Australia is currently seeking a motivated individual who is ready to work with a diverse, talented, and enthusiastic team on-site in Exmouth WA.

Reporting to the Power Generation Supervisor, you will be responsible for controlling, monitoring, maintaining, and operating the associated equipment / plant to ensure uninterrupted generation and distribution of power.

This role is shift work on a roster system, working a combination days and nights.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor individual operating equipment for proper operations.Safely start and stop equipment and bring on-line and off-line.Configure and manage the power system to meet the dynamic load demands considering the design and operational requirements.Perform routine log checks and inspections on equipment.Perform level 1 and level 2 maintenance on diesel engines and associated equipment.Interpret schematic drawings to co-ordinate fluid configuration changes and fault finding.High voltage switching and equipment isolation.Provide knowledge and training support to new shift operators.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or Certificate III in Electrotechnology – Electrical Trade with a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience.A broad knowledge of operational systems and practices, gained through extensive experience and/or education, is required.Power Plant experience (or similar industrial work environment).High school, secondary school or equivalent education is required.Candidates must be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
