The Owens Corning - Amarillo Composites Plant is seeking a Power and Controls Specialist. The Power & Control Specialist (PCS) is an hourly position that maintains all instrumentation, electrical and electronic devices, and systems in the Amarillo Plant, including computer-based control systems and medium voltage power distribution systems. This is a diverse role combining skills and abilities for electrical and electronic equipment and systems.

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Troubleshoot, dismantle, repair, reassemble, maintain, and calibrate electrical equipment and systems.

Some examples of equipment are winder motors and motor controls, general power distribution, lighting, programmable logic control systems, etc. Utilize information obtained from engineering drawings, electrical schematics and diagrams, simple and complex sketches, other related documents, and verbal field instructions needed to perform assigned duties. Perform work tasks from SAP generated work descriptions and orders. Participating in Root Cause Analysis and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) efforts through maintaining 5S standards and area/pillar activities as assigned. Maintains safe and clean working environment. Participate in safety and plant trainings.

 

 

Complete accurate records and reports needed for the PCS role in SAP plant maintenance module.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be 18 years or older. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US. Must be drug free. 4 years electrical/electronic/instrumentation experience in industrial/manufacturing environment. Combination of college and experience will be considered. Rotating shifts – days and nights 12-hour shift. Stand for extended prolonged periods during 12-hour shift. Climb and work from ladders, both portable and fixed Climb stairs.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Two years associate degree in electrical or Electronic Systems Technology is preferred but not required.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

General knowledge of Microsoft office suite. Ability to use a multimeter. Ability to trouble shoot 24-volt DC controls. Ability to trouble shoot 120-volt AC controls. Ability to work with 120-volt and 480-volt power. Effective communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
