Job Title Postdoctoral Research Associate Agency Texas A&M Agrilife Research Department Poultry Science Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location College Station, Texas Job Type Staff Job Description Job Responsibilities + Conduct in vivo experiments with broiler chickens to assess the product's effectiveness against fungal and bacterial pathogens. + Collect and analyze datasets related to growth performance, immune profiles, gut health indices, and gut microbiome. + Publish research in peer-reviewed journals and assist in writing reports for funding sources. + Contribute to grant proposals and pursue funding opportunities. + Assist in supervising laboratory personnel for research and teaching activities. + Perform other duties as required. Required Education + PhD in Animal Science, Poultry Science, or a related field. Preferred Experience + In vivo animal studies, particularly with poultry. + Background in immunology, histology, and microbiological techniques. + Experience with molecular techniques such as DNA sequencing and bioinformatics. + Prior work in a Biosafety Level 2 laboratory. + A strong publication record. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Familiarity with laboratory and technical equipment. + Proficiency in creating databases, performing statistical analyses, and presenting data using applicable software. + Strong analytical abilities. + Capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment. + Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities + Proficiency in isolating, culturing, and identifying microorganisms and culturing anaerobic bacteria. + Strong data analysis skills and experience with relevant software. + Familiarity with microbiome analysis techniques, including shotgun metagenomics.
