Postdoctoral Fellow - Molecular & Cellular Oncology (Naora Lab)

A position is available for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Honami Naora in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Oncology. Research in the Naora Laboratory is directed to investigating tumor-host interactions and the mechanisms of metastatic organotropism, with a focus on peritoneal metastasis. Our laboratory is especially interested in understanding immune and non-immune cell dynamics in formation of the pre-metastatic niche (Lee et al, 2019, Journal of Experimental Medicine; Akasaka et al, 2023, JCI Insight; Lee et al, 2025, Cancer Cell).
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
• Conduct innovative and rigorous research projects that advance our understanding of the tumor microenvironment, metastasis, and host responses and address unmet clinical needs.
• Develop conceptual skills to 'think outside the box' to address fundamental biological and biomedical questions.
• Develop research ability, proficiency in grantsmanship, and other necessary professional skills to establish a career as an independent cancer researcher after completion of training.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
• Ph.D. in cell biology, cancer biology, immunology, molecular biology, or related fields.
• Experience with mouse models. Experience in flow cytometry is also highly advantageous.
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals.
• Strong organizational skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for research, scientific curiosity, and ability to engage in independent thinking.
POSITION INFORMATION
MD Anderson offers full-time postdoc positions with a salary ranging from $64,000 to $76,000. depending on the number of years of postgraduate experience.
