Postdoctoral Fellow
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to take part in various pioneering projects within MUSiiC Research Laboratory, in the field of ultrasound (US) and photoacoustic (PA) imaging. The applicant will mainly contribute to the design, development and validation of ultrasound/photoacoustic image processing and AI algorithms for wearable devices and robot-assisted surgeries with US/PA image guidance. Specific Duties & Responsibilities + Research, design and implement US/PA image analysis algorithms tailored to the needs of multiple projects. + Develop software framework for data generation, and the training, evaluation and testing of such algorithms. + Collaborate with researchers within a cross-discipline team to generate methodological proposals, integrate and deliver the research targets. + Help with project management, coordinate the meeting schedules and prepare documentation and technical reports on project progress, methodologies, and outcomes. Education + PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Minimum Skills and Experience + A minimum of 5 years' experience in ultrasound and photoacoustic research and/or product development. + A proven record of academic publications in well-known conferences/journals + Proven hands-on experience in building systems based on machine learning and/or deep learning methods, and familiarity with PyTorch/TensorFlow libraries. + Research/work experience with image segmentation and ultrasound data acquisition. Preferred Skills and Experience + Expertise in US/PA image analysis with deep learning frameworks. + Having experience in the wearable US/PA devices research + Having experience in the minimally invasive robotic surgery with US/PA image guidance research + Hands-on experiences for implementing real-time image-guidance systems. + Strong software skills in Python, MATLAB, C/C , Git, ROS and Linux + Experience with interdisciplinary and/or cross-cultural collaboration.
