The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia invites applications for a post-doctoral research associate position in Data Analytics and Decision Sciences (DADS), beginning in July 2025. 

The research associate will work closely with the area faculty, primarily on research related to forecasting and forecast aggregation, ensemble models, predictive analytics, statistical models and the application of various forecasting methods in practice. Exceptional candidates with other areas of interest will also be considered, provided that those interests are relevant to the research agenda of the area faculty. 

Successful candidates will have significant experience in theory development, data analytics, applied math and statistics, and are expected to advance a number of research projects from conceptualization through publication. A portion of time will be devoted to collaborating with faculty with an understanding that effort will also be directed at independent research.  

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have a PhD in Decision Sciences, Data Science, Management Science, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related area by the date of appointment. Candidates must also demonstrate excellent oral and written communication in daily interactions, and proven ability to clearly articulate specific information in areas of subject matter expertise. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, R, Python or other statistical programs is required. 

This is a one-year appointment; however, the appointment may be renewed for an additional two, one-year increments, contingent upon available funding and satisfactory performance.
