The Fellow becomes an employee of Woods Services and works at Beechwood NeuroRehab as a post-graduate Neuropsychologist in training who is preparing for licensure. The duration in the position can be one or two years depending on the needs of the firm and the inclinations of the Fellow to complete either a one or two-year training assignment. This position can also be offered to a licensed clinician, holding a licensed in the state of PA as a licensed psychologist, licensed clinical social worker and/or licensed professional counselor. The Post-Doctoral Fellow or Licensed clinician will participate in the following role responsibilities as a member of the transdisciplinary teams which provides services within all of Beechwood NeuroRehab’s specialized brain injury programs: Provides direct services to assigned clients in the form of individual and group psychotherapy, cognitive rehabilitation training, cognitive behavior therapy, family therapy, and other interventions as directed under the direct supervision of a licensed, doctoral-level psychologist. Conducts intake, neuropsychological and neurofunctional evaluations under the direct supervision of a licensed, doctoral-level psychologist to support the development of programs to improve productive daily functioning. Develops cognitive rehabilitation programs to improve productive daily activity patterns of the individuals served under the direct supervision of a licensed, doctoral-level psychologist. Participates in medication reviews with the program Attends Transdisciplinary Team meetings. The Fellow/ Clinician will be actively engaged in the training to develop the skill sets required to lead such Team meetings within the conceptual transdisciplinary mode for individuals with acquired brain disorders. After such skill sets are honed the Fellow/ Clinician will lead select Transdisciplinary Teams as directed under the direct supervision of a licensed, doctoral-level psychologist. Identifies brain injury training needs and provides in-service training to direct care and professional staff directed under the direct supervision and guidance of a licensed, doctoral-level psychologist. Provides expertise to employees in understanding the neuropsychological strengths and weaknesses of persons served and their capacities for change under the direct supervision and guidance of a licensed, doctoral-level psychologist. Evaluates clients in response to crisis situations, including suicide threats under the direct supervision and guidance of a licensed, doctoral-level psychologist. Completes all documentation including reports and progress notes as required which are counter-signed by a licensed, doctoral-level psychologist. Participates in research activities which are both center-generated and self- generated under the guidance and direction of the Clinical Director and participates in outcome research conducted by our facility in preparation for accreditation site-visits by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Attends local and regional continuing education workshops, seminars and conferences designed to enhance the Fellow’s competencies in the practice of Clinical Neuropsychology. The Fellow/ Clinician will have the opportunity to represent Beechwood NeuroRehab and Woods by presenting her / his own research at local and regional conferences and workshops. The Fellow/ Clinicain will perform other duties as directed under the supervision of the Clinical Director and or a licensed, doctoral-level psychologist Discipline specific job competencies: Will have completed a doctoral degree in psychology from a regionally accredited academic institution licensed to grant the doctoral degree in psychology and have had some specialized training experiences in the application of the principles of Clinical Neuropsychology, including assessment, treatment, and consultation or completed a master’s degree in psychology from a regionally accredited academic institution licensed to grant the doctoral degree in psychology and have had some specialized training experiences in the application of the principles of Clinical Neuropsychology, holding a license as a licensed professional counselor/ licensed clinical social worker, as a licensed psychologist. Demonstrates knowledge of current evidence-based practice and theory in cognitive rehabilitation, and demonstrates skill in applying theory in intervention Developing experience in providing clinical supervision to trainees in assessment and intervention. Developing skill in the provision of consultation with members of other disciplines. Takes initiative to develop interactive relationships across all disciplines in applying the transdisciplinary approach to enhance skill specific and context specific training experiences Communicates effectively with the persons served, family members, funders, other staff, support systems and all stakeholders. Demonstrates skillful oral and written communication skills and leadership skills for Rehabilitation Team Meetings with sensitivity, depth and professionalism. Demonstrates understanding of, and facilitates developmental/life Demonstrate adherence to confidentiality regulations with regard to the disclosure of protected health/education information. Demonstrates respect for diversity and recognize the unique needs and values of Demonstrates the ability to collaborate with other Beechwood NeuroRehab team members, showing respect for the contributions of others. Demonstrates a high degree of organizational skill and the ability to effectively prioritize multiple demands. Maintains routines and systems that insure task completion in a timely manner. Doctoral degree in Neuropsychology or in Clinical Psychology with a Specialization in Neuropsychology required. Completion of a Pre-Doctoral Internship in Clinical Neuropsychology or a Pre-Doctoral Internship in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Neuropsychology completed before the Fellowship commences; Or Doctoral Degree or Master’s degree in Psychology required; PA state licensure in psychology/ licensed clinical social worker, licensed professional counselor required. Background in neuropsychology and brain/behavior relationships preferred. Valid driver’s license Able to lift/transfer a minimum of 50 lbs.
