Vacancy ID: PDS004467 Position Summary/Description: The Department of Neurology is seeking a full-time postdoctoral fellow to assist Dr. Monica Diaz with her National Institutes of Health and foundation-funded research taking place at UNC -Chapel Hill and in Peru and Uganda. The clinical research focuses on the neurological and neurocognitive consequences of HIV and opportunistic infections, as well as the epidemiology and characterization of demyelinating diseases and dementia in resource-limited settings. The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to travel to international settings where the research takes place. The post-doc is expected to lead independent sub-projects related to these research areas. The post-doctoral fellow will engage in all elements of research from design through dissemination. They will collaborate with co-investigators on research, conduct independent statistical analyses, publish first-authored manuscripts and present research at conferences and to other outlets. The post-doc will also assist with grant applications and, ultimately, prepare an application for independent research funding.
