Post Doc - Experimental Design

**The Position**
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative postdoctoral fellow to work on experimental design with a focus on Bayesian Optimization in chemical development. In this role, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of closed-loop and open-loop workflows, applying these methodologies to improve processes. Applying these methods to development projects of New Chemical Entities (NCEs) will be a key aspect of your work.
This Position is limited for 2 years.

**Tasks & responsibilities**
+ In your new role, you will develop and refine (Black-Box) optimization strategies over continuous and categorical search spaces (including molecules), including Bayesian Optimization, to improve existing closed-loop and open-loop workflows.
+ Moreover, you will apply these methods to small molecule (NCE) development projects.
+ With your expertise, you will orchestrate software solutions for both closed-loop and open-loop experimental workflows.
+ Furthermore, you will leverage internal and external data sources to enhance workflow efficiencies and outcomes.
+ You will work alongside domain experts, data scientists, and software engineers to implement and integrate solutions into the development pipeline.
+ In addition, you will contribute to a collaborative work environment, and engage in continuous learning and professional development.
+ You will also publish findings in scientific journals and present at international conferences.
+ Communicate scientific concepts behind experimental design to non-experts in a clear and accessible manner, rounds your profile.
**Requirements**
+ Ph.D. in Natural Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field
+ Background in experimental design, with experience in Bayesian Optimization or similar techniques being advantageous
+ Proficiency in programming languages relevant to workflow automation and experimental design e.g. Python
+ Knowledge in chemistry is a plus
+ Strong ability to work in a team-oriented environment with excellent communication skills
+ Genuine interest in learning and professional growth within a collaborative and supportive work environment
+ Fluency in English, written and spoken
