Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to oversee the repair and refurbishment works of BSL-2 laboratories. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building construction, laboratory safety, and specialized systems, including security systems, fire alarms systems, HVAC, plumbing, epoxy flooring, roof, and ceiling repairs. As a Clerk of Works, you will be responsible for ensuring that repairs and installations are carried out according to safety standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements while maintaining effective coordination between contractors and project teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct inspections and site visits to ensure the quality of work related to the repair and maintenance of BSL-2 laboratories. Oversee the repair/installation works, including security systems maintenance, fire alarm systems, HVAC units, windows, drywall, plumbing, epoxy flooring, and roof and ceiling repairs. Ensure compliance with laboratory safety standards and regulatory requirements specific to BSL-2 environments. Monitor and enforce construction safety practices and HSE regulations throughout the project. Maintain detailed records of inspections, progress, and any non-compliance issues, ensuring timely corrective actions are taken. Coordinate with project teams to address and resolve any technical or operational issues that arise. Review and verify that all works are executed according to design specifications and approved plans. Provide regular reports on project progress, quality control, and safety compliance.

 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

Proven experience as a Clerk of Works (with a focus on laboratory construction or specialized repair works) A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, or a related field. Experience in overseeing repair works involving security systems, fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing, epoxy flooring, windows, drywall, and roof/ceiling repairs. Knowledge of construction safety standards and risk management procedures. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to identify and resolve issues promptly to avoid project delays. (Strong understanding of BSL-2 laboratory environments, including safety systems and regulations.)
