S:US is seeking a Porter for their families with children shelter in Brooklyn.

 

This position is located at 882 Dumont Avenue Broklyn, NY 11207

 

 

SCOPE OF ROLE:

The Porter will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and minor repairs in a residential shelter.

Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas within the facility.  This includes but is not limited to; floor care (mopping, sweeping, buffing, waxing), cleaning cafeteria and kitchen areas, bathrooms, emptying trash, separating recyclables, emptying garbage, wiping windows and walls, and cleaning stairways and/or elevators.

Carry out minor repairs and building maintenance throughout assigned areas of the facility.  This includes but is not limited to; painting, plastering, repairing furniture, maintaining smoke detectors and fire extinguishers.

 

Qualifications At least two years of building maintenance experience in a large residential/institutional setting working with special needs population required.Must possess good interpersonal skills.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

High School Diploma or GED preferred. NYS driver’s license preferred.Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
